This book is based on Azhwar’s monologue from a set of 10 hymns from Perumal Thirumozhi titled – OONERU SELVATHU, where he ponders on the fact that a birth without service to God is useless. Kulasekhara Azhwar explores various options for rebirth, which will allow him to stay in Tirumala forever. 
This is also the story behind why the doorstep outside Lord Srinivasa’s altar (Sannidhi) is called Kulasekhara Padi.
